It has also been shown that the nerves from the brain to the hand are so highly developed by generations of use, that the hand, whether passive or active is in every sense the immediately servant of brain.

Talking about the nails, the care of the nails does not alter or affect their type in the slightest degree, whether they are broken by work or polished by care, the type remains unchanged.
