HOW YOU HANDLE YOUR
NEW PUPPY

The pet puppy must be welcomed as a part of the family especially it must make the children in the house very comfortable. A child must learn the right way of having a pet then let it be any type of pet. The child must also join the adults in the family in feeding, walking and training the family dog. As soon as the puppy is in don't try to become the MASTER. Slow and steady wins the race, which is very true for training young dogs.

THE HINTS HERE WILL HELP YOU TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR NEW PUPPY.

FIRST DAY

  • Do not scare the puppy by loud welcome voice, as it may be fun for you but proves a fear for the new one.
  • Do not insist the puppy to eat too many things as you welcome other guests in your home.
  • Do not scold the puppy if it creates mess as soon as it enters because this is the natural tendency.
  • Give full freedom to the puppy to roam in the entire house taking care it does not entangle in wrong places.
  • Keep a bowl filled with fresh water and another with milk in the sight of the puppy but don't force to drink at the same time.
  • If the puppy wants to rest don't disturb by picking it or driving its attention to some another source of play.
  • Feed your puppy with some dry food, again don't compel.
  • In the evening you can take your puppy out but carry it when you are on the main road.
  • For the routine carry your puppy to the bathroom place and leave for some time (10-15 mins). If the puppy does not respond then don't scold it will take few more days.
  • Arrange for a proper place to sleep, taking care that the puppy does not feel left alone.

SECOND DAY

You will have to follow all the hints given above but the only addition will be now that you start compelling to smaller extents.

THIRD DAY

Start with your home training but as said earlier don't try being MASTERS. Teach your dog in a soft tone. Don't punish for the mistakes in the beginning. Praise for all possible good things your puppy does.

FOURTH DAY

Continue with the above hints but now start teaching your puppy all the possible good manners.

NOW YOUR PUPPY IS QUIET FAMILIAR WITH YOUR VOICE, THE PLACE AND THE ENVIRONMENT WHICH WAS VERY NEW FOR HIM THE FIRST DAY. DON'T TAKE FOR GRANTED YOUR PUPPY THEN AFTER BUT START TREATING THE PUPPY MORE SERIOUSLY (IN A DISCIPLINED WAY).
