Horoscope matching

In most Hindu families, every individual has his janam kundli or horoscope made. It is usually made on the basis of the birth time of that individual. All events and happenings in a person’s life depend on the horoscope. An individual’s horoscope is divided into 12 houses, which range from the person himself to his family, career, marriage, life expectancy, etc.

The matching of horoscopes

There are some aspects of the bride and the groom that are considered when the horoscopes are matched to fix an alliance.

  1. Health
  2. Education
  3. Character
  4. Destiny
  5. Life Expectancy
  6. Sexual power
  7. Nature
  8. Intelligence

The following points are considered individually both for the bride and the groom. Each point has certain marks which are added (both for the bride and the groom). Both the marks are individually taken into account. It is said that a minimum of 18 points should match to make the match compatible. Then comes the nakshatra (constellations) compatibility. Here certain houses are studied carefully and then the decision is taken whether the match is good or bad.
